Discussion Forums

Check out this new interactive feature. From this Home page, look on the bar above for the Forums button, which will be to the right of the Events button; depending on your device, you may have to select the "drop-down" button (three stacked lines) to the far right. Once you see the Forums option, select Discussion Forums and read about the latest folklore topics for discussion.

For starters, what do you know about "the devil in Texas," as it relates to plants? If you don't know anything about it yet, now is the time to learn more about it by reading what others have to say.

We're just trying out how this new feature works, but it should be a great way for folks to share folklore-related knowledge...with everyone who finds us on the web. Watch for more topics to follow soon.

The Texas Folklore Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the folklore of Texas and the Southwest.

The Texas Folklore Society is the oldest state folklore organization continually functioning in the United States. Founded in 1909, the Society held its first meeting on the campus of the University of Texas in 1911.The annual meeting takes place the weekend after Easter, when members read papers on a variety of folklore subjects. On Friday night there is a "hootenanny" and on Saturday night a banquet with an invited speaker or other entertainment.

All sessions are open to the public.
